■Monthly gathering is an important arrangement for Tanoshiikai members. Especially new comers appreciate to meet different people who have either been here for a while or been here a short while.

Tanoshiikai need 10 people to organize this gathering 2009. Unfortunately I, Naomi, do not have any capacity to organize this anymore.

The task is not difficult!
You chose a restaurant and send a mail to all members from tanoshikai@gmail.com.
If 10 people will show interest, task will be very easy. You can organize this only once in 2009.

I really hope 10 people would show interest. Otherwise we will have less gathering!!
Send a mail who can do this before 3.feb.

An Invitation to The 12th Hanami-day 2009
Japanese Day at the Museum of Cultural History
(Annual event since 1998, in various museums )

Please come and join us, and bring your friends with you―to enjoy the day together, with us!
This event is open and everyone is welcome!

・ Date/Time: March 29, Sunday, 13:00 hrs.--15:30 hrs.
・ Venue: Museum of History & Cultural Heritage, Historisk museum- UiO, Frederiksgt.2.
(Egg-coloured museum between the Royal Palace and the National Gallery)
・ Cost: Free of charge, as it is a present from us to all the visitors. (a "dugnad " and "mochiyori", in which all of us contribute for you to have a nice get-together.) Entrance is also free.

Program (NB. Languages used: mainly Norwegian & Japanese & English. There might be some changes. )
* Japanese music performance on KOTO and Mukkuri
* Welcome and Opening
* A short Poetry Reading in Japanese and Norwegian
* Demonstrations: Karate, Kendo, I-go(sjakk), ... etc.
* Origami (paper-folding) and Kamishibai ("paper-theatre" with ancient folkstories), Yukata,Kimono, Happi for children.
* Exhibitions of Ikebana (flower arrangement), Ukiyoe tresnitt etc…
* Japanese tea and rice crackers will also be served. Free of charge/Gratis.

■Dear Members of Tanoshiikai & Japan-venner,
We would like to extend invitation to the annual New Year's Party 2009 of the Japan-Norway Society (JNS).

This year, the party will be held at the same venue as the last year, Musikklaerernes Hus, on Friday, February 6, 19:30―22:30.

NB* The entrance is from Underhaugsveien, pararell to Josefinesgt.. It is a narrow, dark street, between Bislett/Rimi shop and Bogstadveien.

It costs kr.350 per person for participation. The price is strongly subsidized for the JNS members, but we are also interested in potential member-candidates to The Japan-Norway Society.

Please read the attached form. If you like to join us, get in touch with us and pay the fee as described. Very late cancellation might be difficult to handle due to ordering foood & drinks. Parking nearby may be difficult and we recommend public transportation or try to find parking on other streets.
